About Us

Deb Pryor
In 2013 I began my role as Deputy Principal of Ardtornish Primary School with my main leadership focus area being Special Education and the management of Special Needs Support Programs. For the past 2 years I have been a classroom teacher 1 day per week, taking on a counselling role since Term 4 in 2014.
I am a firm believer that all children have a right to access the curriculum successfully and enjoy their time at school. Therefore, timely and appropriate intervention and support, together with strong partnerships between home and school are crucial to children's ongoing learning progress and well being.

Mandy Arscott, Classroom SSO

I began working at Ardtornish in 2005. I have supported students in all year levels, although over the last few years I have mainly been supporting students in Years 4 to 7. Implementing the use of IT, particularly iPads into our daily routine when working with students has enabled them to achieve success using  a different tool for  them to express themselves.

I have worked at Ardtornish since 2010. I have supported students in Early and Primary Years with a particular focus on Early Years Literacy Intervention. This year I am assisting students in Years 2, 4, 5 and 7 with some 1:1 and class group support. Last year I participated in professional learning about Assisting Students with Dyslexia and in 2015 I will be sharing my learning in this area with our entire SSO Support Team.

Recently I have trained in working with students who have complex learning difficulties and have completed my Certificate III in Education. I also enjoy assisting teachers in facilitating the Read Write Inc. program in the Junior Primary area.
